A Promise of Happiness by NZ Artist Anna Filimonova.
“In this surreal scene set at the closing of the day, Anna wants us to feel the twilight cooling and the dimming of the hope. This work contrasts sublime and bright elements which is intended to stir the feelings of the observer. Various elements of Anna’s previous works are juxtaposed around the central Kiwi element of a soaring Tui carrying a watch. This represents the need for urgency to help Ukraine.
Symbolically, New Zealand is represented by an island (with the Cape Palliser lighthouse), juxtaposed with Ukraine (the Sunflower alone). Above is the sky that reminds the viewer that we all share it, as we share our planet, and our common goal should be peace for us and our children. The elements of childhood reminds us of the next generation that hopefully will live in peace and pursue their dreams.”

CuppaCoffeeCup asked the artist, Anna Filimonova who she would like to see them fundraise for and she asked them to contribute to UNITED24. “UNITED24 was launched by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy as the main venue for collecting charitable donations in support of Ukraine. Funds will be transferred to the official accounts of the National Bank of Ukraine and allocated by assigned ministries to cover the most pressing needs.” https://u24.gov.ua/ We will split money raised between providing assistance with medical aid and the rebuild of Ukraine.
